I submitted my first book to Amazon on December 28. It is an erotic paranormal short, only about 5000k words. My female main character is one who has been living in my head for a little while now. I love vampire stories. I've been in love with vampires since watching my first old Dracula movie. It starred Bela Lugosi. He had me hooked from the opening scene. Enough that I had to go track down Dracula by Bram Stoker.
While I love the traditional male vampire, a strong female vampire is one who had been whispering in my head. She wanted her story told. To heck with those broody men in the tradition vampire stories. So, who is this female heroine of mine? Her name is Georgiana and she was born in London's East End during the Victorian Era in the late 1800s. She was an orphan by the time she was sixteen and managed to get work as a scullery maid. Fast forward to the present day, Georgiana owns a night club and vampires aren't hiding in the shadows. They are hanging out at clubs like the Crimson Oasis. What makes my character unusual? For one she's bisexual. I recently read a thing somewhere that quoted Alan Ball saying all vampires are bisexual. First, I have no idea who Alan Ball is. I take it he's some director. But, I agree with him. Vampires are bisexual. They almost have to be to survive. I admit I like that idea. As a heterosexual woman, maybe I shouldn't admit to enjoying erotica. Well, I'm strange. I do love erotica. I don't just love M/F erotica though. I love all kinds. I love reading stories with M/F, FF, MM, MMF, and FFM. I'm not sure that last one is actually a thing, but if it isn't, it should be. So, when I had a character popping into my head who insisted she was bisexual, I went with it. She knows her own mind and I'm going to let her tell me what stories she wants to share. And, if anyone wants to read them, all the better. So, does this first story showcase her bisexuality? I don't know. I simply wrote the story the way it should be written. I think it shows that Georgiana is bisexual in a very tasteful way. I'm sure I'll get some flack that the person she ends up with at the end is a male character. How can I do that? I'm sure people are thinking that Georgiana should have hooked up with a girl. Well, perhaps. But, she didn't. I wrote the story that had to be written. Will she hook up with a girl? You betcha. Georgiana is at a point in her life where she is ready to build a family. She needs a close circle of friends and lovers with whom she can be herself. Book 1 was just the first step on Georgiana's journey to building her family. It might end up being an unusual family. Who cares. It's her story. It will be the one that finally allows Georgiana to become the person she needs to be in the end. Do you want to read Georgiana's first story? The Vamp and Her Stud is available now exclusively on Amazon. It is also enrolled in Kindle Unlimited. As a special celebration for New Year's Day, I'll be running Free Promo. The Vamp and Her Stud will be available for free download on January 1 and January 2, 2018.
